Description
This child's mug, likely similar to what Elizabeth refers to as a Pannikin, was gifted to her nephew Edward Shippen Burd, in celebration of the birth of his new son. She gives this an a "pap boat" as a signal of "and as an evidence of the verity of her good wishes for the health, and future welfare of the dear Pledge of their happy union. "
